We invite you to holiday in Mousehole at The Loft House situated near the harbour and village centre. The Loft House is more than
100 years old, now with an architect’s imaginative ‘make over’,
it is furnished to a modern and charming standard.
Everyone
finds the Loft House restful, comfortable and full of character.
There are three bedrooms; two doubles and a twin bedded room. Up to six
persons can be accommodated with ease. There are toilets both upstairs
and down. However, the house is unsuitable for young children and pets
are not permitted. The Loft House is a no smoking home.
The house lies near the centre of the village of Mousehole.
This beautiful small fishing village, is first recorded in historical
records in 1242 AD. Relatively unchanged over the past century, Mousehole
is protected by conservation measures.
During the summer months there are boats working out of the harbour mainly
fishing for shellfish and mackerel. Nearby Newlyn is the main port in
this region (its early morning fishmarket is most interesting). At all
seasons, Mousehole is a delightful village in an interesting part of West
Penwith.
The Cornish coastal path leads from the village; there
is delightful walking especially to the southward towards Lamorna and
beyond. To the north of Mousehole is the start of a cycle path which gives
easy access to St Michael’s Mount about 6 miles
away.
There is much historic, archaeological, artistic and sporting interest
in the West Penwith area. The world famous Mousehole Christmas
Harbour Lights are an outstanding attraction over the Christmas
and New Year period. The famous Minack Theatre is only
eight miles away by car.
The Loft House has a sunny position with a fine rear patio catching the
afternoon sun and giving views of Raginnis Hill ; there is also a small
walled garden. Public car parking is about 100 yards from the house; it
is payable locally.
